I’m talking about EPIC.

If you watch as much as I have, you will begin to see some similarities between ‘epic’ anime. That is, they possess a flux emotions that other “average” anime lack – vengeance and jealousy are just a few of the more powerful ones.
In Gurren Lagann, Simon and Kamina finally reach the freedom they’ve desired their entire lives, but in an instant of carelessness, Kamina dies in battle. The entire story is overturned and Simon falls from optimism to depression and he must overcome the death of Kamina in order to live up to their original ideals. Epic.
In gungrave, like Gurren Lagann, the first half of the story is uplifting and Brandon and Harry finally get off the streets and attain the life they’ve always wanted – until Harry betrays Brandon for his own greed. Brandon’s vengeance goes beyond the grave (pun). Epic.
In True Tears, Shin’ichiro slowly becomes the target of love for three of his close female friends. But unlike in regular romance series, it isn’t clear until the very end who Shin’ichiro himself feels affection for. Though they are not aware of it themselves, the three girls feel jealousy at all times when they see another with him. Epic.
As you can see, Epicness comes in many forms, but when i say ‘epic’ I am referring to the anime that is at the pinnacle of it’s genre. Something so good that every episode taunts you to watch the next until you realize that you just watched an entire 24 episode series in a single day.
Anyways, if you think you’ve seen something that is Epic, please suggest it (if you know an epic manga, that’s ok too).

What’s a good horror anime?
I’m looking for something dark, bloody and all that. I would really love it to be with demons, werewolves (though i’ve never found any) and vampires or any other monster. Of course the good guy will be the demon/vampire/werewolf and if he’s a detective all the better and i don’t care if it’s not supernatural meaning it’s a regular assassin (like angel heart) just as long as it’s dark, bloody and there’s lost of fighting but i still want it to be with a plot. I’ll be sure to give best answer if i like the animes you give me and i’d appreciate it if you give me a little summary. Here are a few i’ve watched:

What is a good horror anime?
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a good horror anime that will creep me out. I want horror not gore, I dont flintch at the sight of blood and guts so maybe something susspensful.
I loved the higurashi no naku koro ni/kai series and I am watching the OAV right now as it comes out. Those are awesome but Ive seen both series twice already. I heard monster is really good and i want to start on that but im not big into the docter scene, would I still like it?
Now for examples of stuff I dont really like. Im watching Ghost Hunt, on episode 5 right now and got to say, not scary in the least. I also used (forget the site name) a site that let me input anime I watched and it would give me stuff compared to that, I watched an ep of hell girl, forget jap name, and it was pretty lame. I also tried a series, forget name but it was somethign about a star, and it was a litttle disturbing but not scary or on the level higurashi is at. Then I also watched Gants on the same recomendation site, it was all gore no horror.
I guess Im not creeped out by supernatural stuff or stuff that cant happen and am more creeped out by human emotion and natural fear if that makes sense. I know Im dragging on with this question, im sorry, but I always like to be as specific as I can
So I ask you, is there any more good horror anime besides monster and higurashi? I dont mind gore, it can add to a good horror plot but it has to be very suspsenseful and creepy too. Thans everyone
English anime to watch?
Ok, do NOT give me any subtitled crap ones, because doing so will not get you best answer and will automatically disqualify you for it.
Now that, that is settled i need an english anime to watch, preferably something that was released in 2004 to Now. Animes that i don’t want listed include (this doesn’t mean their bad, it just means that i have seen them or are saving them for later). I had just finished Ghost hunt and it was really cool, and now i need something else to watch…..
I would say i finished Kurokami as well but that one was terrible…..At least the ending of it was anyway…..and the character relationships in it were terrible and made it one of the worst animes for that kind of thing i’ve ever seen.

ok there may be others that i am not remembering. And I am definitely on of those ppl who has seen alot of first episodes of animes. As you can probably tell it takes alot for an anime to capture me. Normally I will find one that really impresses me and I will watch it ALOT, then I will start a new one which is not as good and not be able to finish it… As seen above. So basically I am looking for an anime that is very interesting, there need to be something captivating about it. Whether it be very good character design and artistry or a very good story. I guess looking at the list I tend to drift towards romance shojo animes but sometimes I find them immmature for instance I watched DN angel a year ago and cannot imagine watching it again now. BTW I am 16 (almost 17 yay) if that helps at all. I also really like comedy but do not feel pressured to jsut find a buch of romatic comedies, honestly i’m open for anything. Also I would really prefer dubbed anime… I can do subs but i would appreciate it if whoever answers would just indicate whether there is a dub or not. Thank you. Also I have been thinking about watching vampire knight … is it worth waiting for the dub?
