When monitoring the only known winter calving area of these whales, 17 female whales showed up that were not previously known to have existed. Prior to this finding, it was thought that the North Atlantic whale population was approximately 300 whales. These 17 surprising newcomers increase the previously-thought population by what percent? Express your answer to the nearest whole percent.
One reason these 17 new whales are so surprising is that it’s hard to believe such massive creatures could go undetected! These whales can be 45 feet long and weigh 40 tons. According to these measurements, what is the average weight, in pounds, per linear foot for these whales? Express your answer to the nearest whole number.

If there were only 100 known before, finding 17 new ones would increase population by 17%.
Since there were 300 before, increase is 1/3 as much = 17/3 = 6%
(2,000 pounds / ton) * (40 tons) / (45 feet) = 1,778 pounds / foot

You really have to cut through a lot of garbage to figure out what it is they’re asking. Basically, it’s this:
17 is what percent increase over 300?
40 tons divided by 45 feet = how many pounds per foot?
17 / 300 = .0566 or about 6%
(40 x 2000) / 45 = 1778

I am the “games” girl for my car club “Rustbucket Rebels.” I usually try to do some trivia, a couple of paper based games like auto-alphabet or name that tune. I also do a scavenger hunt. We’ve done the fan-belt toss, washer toss, kick-ball bowling…
I can usually come up with new trivia questions @each show & revise the other games enough so that they are different for each show. The scavenger hunt was a big hit the 1st year but since then it has just dwindled down to 1 of our regular show participants that plays.
Could someone else give me some ideas for games to play at car shows?

BTW…we are a very small club. we have only about 8 members and not all of us can make it to every show. One of our members has recently joined the Navy and will be leaving us for a while knocking us down to only about 7 active members. So any game ideas you have for me, must be able to be organized by only one or two people.

I have organized a “Drag Racing” game. A chair, old steering wheel and a shift of some sort whcih I used atoilet plunger screwed to a piece of pkywood. A tennis ball cut to fit on the top of the plunger serves as a shift knob. Contestants are asked if they like drag racing and if they say yes, then they are brought up to sit and give their best rendition of a what a drag racer sounds like.

I just found out I’m pregnant and I really need help with finding a good part-time job. Please don’t lecture me about how I will need much more than a part-time job to support my child. I know and I have other people helping me. I have an interview on January 7th with the Hershey Corporation, I live in Hershey, PA. But, I’m trying to look for other options too. I was wondering if anyone knows of a job that you can “do from home” or “on your computer” that isn’t a scam or a long process? Maybe even its just some extra money on the side? Please let me know if you have any other suggestions on what I could do to make money during my pregnancy, and later to help support my child.

Most jobs that are worthwhile are going to require that you leave home in order to work. Unless, of course, you are highly skilled in your field and can work from home.
But, some options to make a small amount of extra money from home would be—

Babysitting
You may want to check to see if Mary Kay and Avon require you to be 18. I think they might.

This is not the beginning, nor the end. Somewhere in the middle. Is it good enough?
“My heart pounded quite hard in my chest as I gazed at the entrance. Violent screams and images spun rapidly in my head. For some reason, I was always nervous or simply overly excited before the hunt.
I stepped out the door and walked down the path to my garage. It was pitch black in the garage. As usual, it had a musky dusty stench that hung heavily in the air. I knew that basically everything except my car and the tarp covering my motorbike had a thick layer of dust over it.
I owned a simple silver four door Honda and a sport motorbike. As I am simply hunting tonight to study my victim, I will be using my motorbike.
It was hard to see it, so I stuck my hands out and blindly searched for it. I will love the day when I will be more organized I thought to myself as I felt one of my motorbike’s mirrors.
My hands maneuvered over to one of the handles of my motorbike and grabbed hold of it. With that, I mounted the motorbike and played with my keys to find the remote. At finding it, I jabbed my finger into one of the buttons to open the garage door and watched it as it slid open. I kicked the kick stand up and waddle out of the garage on the tips of my toes, moving the motorbike without the engine on.
Once near the side walk, I halted and just gazed at the road and sighed. I peeled the paintball mask off and placed it on the tank. My lips shuddered as the chilly air sunk deep into my skin cooling my core down. I could barely see the steam spiral into the air with each breath I exhaled.
Just seeing the steam, my cravings kicked in. Ugh, where are my cigarettes when I need them? **** I thought to myself as I patted my body down.
I found half a pack in one of my pockets of my sweater. “I swore I took them out of my sweater,” I mumbled as I pulled a cigarette out along with my lighter.
The cigarette dangled from my lips as I lit the lighter. My eyes analyzed the neighborhood for any witnesses as I waved the flame at the tip of the cigarette, lighting the tip up.
I inhaled a deep breath and released the carbon dioxide from my lungs out into the silent night. “I need to align the information…victims info,” I mouthed as I squeezed my eyes shut.
It was how it worked for me. I needed to lay it all out like a map on a table.”

Well … i guess it s good it s just that i don t know the plot who the person is what the character s doing so i can t be sure of how good it is ! But i think this section looks okay

Recently, when my dog was outside at night, she has found and killed (on 3 separate occasions) 3 baby possums. I’m assuming the babies may be in the back corner of the yard, where tall trees and a wood pile lie. My dog, a 2 year old boxer, is becoming obsessed with “hunting” for her little furry friends now when she is let outside at night! Every time she “gets” one, she ends up being covered in fleas, even though she we use Advantage. It’s awful! The possums are babies, but I’m assuming the mother is around somewhere. Is there anyway, besides not letting my dog out at night, to prevent this from continuing to happen? Or do I just hope the babies grow up soon and are more aware of my predator?! Will removing the wood pile and trimming trees help? It’s been a recent thing, and never has it happened before in the past 2 years.
She is finding the possums in my our yard– our yard is fenced and she uses the dog door to come in and out of the house…i lock her in at night now, but if I’m not home, she is not locked in– therefor able to get to the possums. I need an alternate fix OTHER THAN locking her in or putting her on a leash.

You need to keep the dog either inside or on a leash. Fleas are the least of your worries, possums carry a number of diseases. Just remember that this dog is coming into your house and giving you kisses. Walk the dog on a leash so he can’t get any animals

A simple werewolf and his soul keeper stalk the night, hunting.
“Come on!” the keeper sighed.
“No blood sucking tonight. None.”
She rubbed her temples and fought back the urge to rip apart the next human that passed her.
The werewolf laughed under his breath about his keepers lack of control. For as long as his furry body has lived on this earth, he could tell an impatient, vampire when he saw one.
“What you laughin’ at, huh?” she shouted.
His only reply was more laughter.
“Shut up!” she squealed.
Even more laughter.
“S… Stop…” then the tears started.
“Sorry.” his gruff apology was enough to make her happy. She hugged him and skipped to a dark alley.
“Sienna?” He asked.
“I got you a present…” She whispered.
His mind came up with a million and one things his keeper could have. But all were wrong.
“Here!” she held a flower in her sharp teeth.
“Thanks…?” He reached for the flower but was stopped by Sienna’s sudden shock.
“That’s not the present!” she pointed to her feet.
“I told you not to kill anyone!” he shouted, his fur increasing and his eyes glowing.
“Oh you won’t hurt me, silly. And you said no blood sucking. Not killing.”
A smile broke across Sienna’s face. A smile that Seigfried despised at the moment. He hated everything about sienna sometimes. He hated the goofy way she followed every rule she could, but broke every one he came up with. He hated the way she took an hour to do her hair. He hated it because she was so lucky. So lucky to not be cursed as he was.
“Leave the body, let’s get home.”
“No! I don’t wanna leave!”
“Too bad.” he grasped her by the foot and dragged her home. Surprisingly, no one noticed.
CHAPTER TWO
They’re old blue house was a play ground for sienna. She jumped on the old fireman pole and climbed up the walls. It kept her entertained while Siegfried did his work.
Siegfried was an artist. He painted pictures of bugs on coffee mugs and even the occasional horse in theoce

People loved his paintings and spent god-knows-how-much money on them. Sienna often stared in his people paintings. He drew her on the roof one day, and hung it up in her bedroom. In a pink frame.
Sienna stared at that picture a lot. It was back when she was a fresh immortal. Back when she kept siegfried’s soul in her pocket. Now, it sits in a jar on her nightstand. She pets it sometimes. Shakily touching the sparkly yellow ball of light that siegfried missed so much. It’s name was frank. Frank the soul.
“Sienna!” Siegfried shouted.
“What?” she yelled back.
“Come here!”
“No!”
“Come on! Don’t be so bitchy!”
“Don’t call me a bitch!”
“Ugh.”
“Hey, siegfried?”
“Yeah!”
“…come here!”
CHAPTER 3
Tonight was Sienna’s date night. She found Siegfried’s best suit and stuffed his fur in.
“Let’s go!” she squealed.
Though this wasn’t a real date and she could never love anyone, this made her happy. It’s a way to pass the time and play pretend with her soul bud

You didn’t actually have any type of setting or scene, and your chapters would be less than a page long in a standard novel. There is so much missing, I don’t even know what you were trying to say here. It’s all jumbled and confusing, with poor grammar and spelling. The dialogue is hard to understand. You don’t specify who is speaking even after like 8 lines of dialogue. I have no idea what was even going on here…
