Question by fineagirl1: Do you agree with the policies that encourage replacement of hunting and gathering with agriculture? Why or w?
When agrarian cultures run up against non-agrarian cultures, the farmers often believe that they have a mission to “civilize” the non-farmers and to make better (more efficient) use of their resources (particularly land). Farmers tend to see non-farmers as “dogs in a manger”–there they are, sitting on a useful resource, not letting others put it to use for their purposes, like the dog who could sleep anywhere but makes a bed of hay and won’t let the cows eat it.The difficult question I’d like to ask is this: under what circumstances can a social group compel the forfeit of resources in order to use them “for the greatest good for the greatest number”? Is farmland like hay in a manger? To make the question particular: in the Amazon basin today, rainforest is being cleared to make way for agriculture. The tribes who get their living from the forest are being displaced; agriculture seems a “higher and better” use of the land.

Question by : decided i want to take up hunting, what do i need to know?
Hi. I decided i want to learn hunting and fishing. I know absolutely nothing. What is a good gun to buy for 300 and under?if any? what do i need for a hunting “kit”. what hunting rules do i need to know? what do i need to know that i wont find from books and videos? what do you do after you kill the deer? take it to a butcher?

Best answer:

Answer by Jeff W
A good gun to buy is a Ruger 223 but I don’t think there cheap. I assume you’re dear hunting so you’ll need: a gun (with a scope), a grunt call, ammunition, a blind or stand, some type of feed to put out (I prefer corn), a good hunting spot (walk through the area you might be hunting and search for deer trails, oak trees because deer LOVE acorns, and place that supply food. After you kill a deer, you need to skin him then gut him, or you can get him processed by a deer processor. Hope I helped.

Can anyone tell me the cause of “hunting” on an LPG converted car? What is the solution to the problem?

Question by leighsp: Can anyone tell me the cause of “hunting” on an LPG converted car? What is the solution to the problem?
When the engine is idling, the revs are a little low so more fuel is supplied and the revs increase, but they are then higher than they should be so fuel is reduced and the revs fall so that they are even lower than at the starting point.

This cycle takes about one second and then repeats itself, each new cycle revving higher than the last and dropping to a lower point until the car stalls.

( I assume it is variation in the fuel supply but I could be wrong. I am not a mechanic! )

The car did not have this problem before the conversion and does not have it when running on petrol.

The people who did the conversion seem unable to correct it.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If they simply only installed a converter, filter and mixer, running a mechanical throttle linkage. It shouldn’t do that. If they installed a computer, governor, or any kind of emissions control kit. Any of that stuff can cause that If its not adjusted or setup up right. Some engines and finicky on LP. Change your plugs first and set the gap tighter, not exactly sure on the gap but it is different. Just google it.

Question by : In the movie “Good Will Hunting,” why does Will push people away?
Does Will push people away because he thinks that they will hurt him (as he himself suffered from physical abuse as a child)?
He uses defense mechanisms–but I am not sure which ones. Are you able to tell me which?
Intellectualism?
Others?

Thank you.

An abused foster child, he subconsciously blames himself for his unhappy upbringing and turns this self-loathing into a form of self-sabotage both professionally and personally.

They’ve got this fishing show on TV where they catch the fish and then let it go. They don’t want to eat the fish, but they do want to make it late for something. “Where were you?” “I got caught!” “Bullshit. Let me see the inside of your lip.”

Question by berrytrain: Why did they cut the funniest line from “Good Will Hunting”?
I recently saw this movie on the Indie channel. There is that scene when Will is interviewing with
various potential therapists. In one such interview, he asks the therapist, so when did you figure it out?
Figure what out, the therapists asks? And Will says something derogatory about the therapist’s gay sexuality. It was an hilarious scene. I was looking forward to it, but they edited it out!!!!

Sims 3 Ambitions–Ghost Hunting?

Question by rayray: Sims 3 Ambitions–Ghost Hunting?
I just got the sims 3 ambitions game and my sim is a ghost hunter. I don’t really understand the job, and there aren’t any specific work hours for it either, it’s just an on my own thing. I don’t undestand how to “Collect Spirits” but my sim has a current wish to collect five of them. I went to the graveyard and i clicked on a random ghost that was roaming around but all my options were “friendly intro” or “rude intro” and stuff. I clicked on a gravestone and clicked “appease ghost” and then when the ghost came out, “banish ghost” but i don’t really understand what that even did. Help!?

Best answer:

Answer by Libby
Ghost hunting is a profession. You will be given opportunities to go to another sims house and banish their ghost infestation. You can’t banish the kind of ghosts you see at the cemetery. The ghosts you can are like glowing blobs. These blowing globs will only be present at a house your working at. This profession is kind of a disappointment in my opinion. The only good thing is the uniform, it so styling. Just kidding there… Good Luck.

Q&A: REPUBLICANS, how many of you like to go “hunting” ?

Question by Zodiac Man “The Great”: REPUBLICANS, how many of you like to go “hunting” ?
What does this has to do with politics. Well, there are so many people worried about the Dems outlawing certain guns here in the
United States. That is not really the case. I asked a question about
hunting in the “hunting” category. It was virtually dead. Only got 1
response, and that took 10 minutes. ANYWAY !! Republicans. I am
a Dem. And I live down South. But I like to hunt for animals. ( We have that much in common) My
12 guage shotgun is too loud, and it is illegal for me to use it in the
woods in my area. I heard about those air rifles. I want one that can go up to 1000 fps, with 500 pounds of pressure. Do you think “air rifles” are a great alternative
compared to a typical gun ? AND can it be used for hunting animals, such as
deer, rabbits, pigs, and squirrels ? Answer here…………..

Best answer:

Answer by Mr.
Well…i’m not a Republican, but I like to hunt too.

The thing is… a .22 can be just as dangerous as an AK47…. in the hands of someone who has good aim. Possibly more dangerous in some cases… since a .22 won’t “go through” you, it will ricochet around in your organs…or easily ricochet off other objects.

The “assault weapons” issue…. is a little distorted.
The only difference in “level of danger” for an assault weapon, and say… a 30/30… one “looks” meaner than the other.

GAMO air rifles CAN KILL DEER in a single shot… i’ve seen it first hand.
