Is the 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms more for the protection of hunting guns or military style assualt guns?
If the Militia mentioned in the 2nd Amendment is associated with the the right to bear arms, then the Militia should have military style weapons. The Supreme Court determined the right to be individual, but the Militia association (as so many on the left are fond of) would necessitate only a true right to military style weapons. Therefore, a case could be made that there is no inherent right to hunting weapons, but there is afforded a right to military style assault weapons equivalent to what our government uses.
For 220 years, the Constitution has done its job by allowing citizens to be protected from the government. The Framers and Founding Fathers knew what they were doing. Without personally owned firearms, which were equivalent to what King George’s royal army had at the time, the British would never have been defeated. Our “precious” Obama would never be president, because there would be no USA. Those who say things like “nobody needs an assualt weapon for self defense,” do not understand the history (notice my top contributor status) and the meaning behind the 2nd Amendment. Ignorant by choice, or ignorant due to misinformation, makes no difference. That attitude toward our freedom is dangerous and will be the ruin of our nation.
They knew the day would come where we as a people would need our arms against a government gone awry. As soon as the right is “taken away,” the government has gone awry. Taking away the items that will defend us against a wayward government (i.e. Assualt weapons) is Un-american and Un-constitutional. All Americans regardless of political affiliation should be in favor of law abiding Americans owning which ever firearms they choose. If Bush wanted to eliminate firearms from all Democrats, there would be justifiable uproar from all sides. If Obama and a Democrat Congress wants to go after your legal weapsons, whatever they, there should be the same uproar from all sides.
Theoretically, RPGs should be legal. Fully automatic weapons are legal to own if you want to jump throught hte hoops. NFA 1934. Look it up.
Need tips on how to make my climber more quiet?
This is my first bow season and Ive never been in the woods this much because im used to hunting for 2 weeks of the year instead of 4 months. I had a nice little buck walk in front of my climber stand today but I could not get a shot off. every time i move, stand up or sit down even just a little movement my seat makes noise. it creaks and it was the reason I couldn’t get a shot!! are there any suggestions on what I could maybe do to eliminate this problem without buying a new stand or seat?? I am a broke college student, any ways I could figure out how to save some money and fix it would definitely be a plus. THANKS THANKS THANKS!!
Should I keep letting my boyfriend have more chances?
“Sean” and I are 21 and have been together for 3 1/2 years, since we were seniors in high school. We both moved to the big city together, and due to this huge change for us both coming from small towns, we quickly moved in together and it was fun. We were splitting money 50/50, and I liked it that way. Both worked regular 40 hour weeks.
In early 2007, we both lost our jobs due to silly circumstances that aren’t relevant anymore. We both decided that we were going to just take whatever job we could get, and we did. I worked at a dead end retail job and he got a job at the movie theater. We decided that we were still going to look for better paying jobs while we had these “in-between” jobs paying the bills.
After loathing my retail job for about a month, another opportunity came up for me and I have been working at the same place ever since. I make double and work double what he does right now. It’s been a year and a half since I started this new job.
Sean on the other hand has barely looked for a job. He tells me he is hunting but there is always SOME reason he comes up with on why he can’t get one. He needs another haircut. His clothes aren’t good for interviewing. Other things needed to be done around the house. He needs the internet. He can’t remember what dates he worked where. The list goes on and on.
I got fed up and kicked him out at the beginning of the year because I was feeling taken advantage of financially and he makes me broke! I took him back a couple of months later because he is so sweet to me. But, there he sits working 25 hours a week, 5 hr. shifts for 7.25 an hour.
He treats me so great that it makes me feel mean for making finances such a big deal, but I really feel like he isn’t pulling his weight. Should I just consider myself lucky to have found love, even if he doesn’t make a great partner? I am definately the leader of our relationship, and I don’t want that!
When I try to talk to him about it, he gets in a really foul mood and shuts down. Doesn’t want to talk about it, or he gets all apologetic, cries and promises me the moon. I want to believe him and I want for everything to work out with him, but he isn’t making it very easy by letting me feel overworked while he barely works!
What would you do?
What should I do? Should I give him the boot and see if he floats on his own? Should I be patient and get through this rough patch with him?
I should still dump him even if he treats me good, minus not providing for me?
Emotionally he is great, but there is always this dark cloud….
I have circled newspaper ads, printed craigslist jobs, asked around to friends about job openings and told him about now hiring signs I have seen. He maybe follows up once, but doesn’t again, and he acts so vague when I ask him about it as a follow up. I have tried to look for him.
Why Do You Think My Question, When Placed In The Wrong Category, Received More Responses?
I wanted to ask job hunters what they would do with $100 to help in their career search.
Yahoo put the default category as “Sports – Hunting”.
I THOUGHT I changed it to “Business – Employment”.
Oops.
It went into hunting anyway….
I got 24 responses in 24 hours, only 2 of which mentioned the wrong category thing. I’ve never had 24 response to ANY question. Many of them were honest and well thought out. A few were “I’m unemployed; it sucks; SAVE the $100.” And, of course, a few were “get drunk with the $100 and forget about it.”
I saw my error the next day, and deleted the question. I put it into the appropriate category.
I got 1 response. One. (And it was a sales pitch with link for an online program for the financially desperate, not even a real answer.)
In this economy, I would think that the “business – employment” section would be a “hot” topic…
Does that mean that people are here online for the entertainment and escape, versus help (isn’t that what “Answers” is supposed to do: help you?)?
Are there just a lot of hunters on the web?

I think id rather be more efficient than just piling up the kills…then again i play with a sniper alot and I do not get tons of kills every game. i think i average 7 to 10 in a team deathmatch, and about 10-12 in free for all.

SPECIAL REPORT: Judge Reminds PETA That Dognapping Is A Felony

Yesterday, the latest People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) employee to run afoul of the law made her get-out-of-jail-free arguments before a Virginia judge. It didn’t go too well. At the end of a 90-minute “probable cause” hearing in the aptly named town of Courtland, Virginia, PETA worker Andrea Florence Benoit stood charged with the October 2006 felony theft of a hunting dog. And we learned a great deal more about this disturbing case, and just how far PETA will go to substitute its judgment for everyone else’s.
Before the hearing even began, the prosecutor declared that he wouldn’t pursue petty larceny charges related to a radio-tracking collar Benoit removed from the dog before she put it in a PETA-owned van. Benoit’s lawyer now admits that she took the collar off, but tossed it by the side of the road.
Detectives (and Animal Control officer John Thomas Cooke, who owned the dog) testified that when they stopped Benoit’s van, she lied about having taken the animal. Only after Cooke described the animal in detail did she admit it—saying “Oh … that dog. It’s in the back.”
Cooke also testified that Benoit lied about the tracking collar, saying “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
When Benoit put Cooke’s dog into her PETA-owned van, it was wearing an identification collar with Cooke’s name and cell phone number on it. Its coat was also marked with an identifying number and with Cooke’s initials.
Criminal defense attorney Stephen Benjamin, speaking for Benoit, admitted that the dog was perfectly healthy when she took it.
Benjamin added that Benoit and Edwards “did what was, quite frankly, consistent with their training” at PETA.
Between 1998 and 2005, PETA put to death over 80 percent of the animals it brought back to its Norfolk headquarters.
In 2005 that number was more than 90 percent. (The group has ignored the State of Virginia’s March 31 deadline for providing its 2006 pet-killing statistics.) And in courtroom testimony earlier this year, a PETA manager testified that the group doesn’t have any facilities for long-term animal sheltering.

Will it take something terrible happening to Pres. Obama for conservative media to become more responsible?
First of all, it’s beyond foolish to ignore the rhetoric spewed by a certain cable news outlet and talk radio programs. Some of it is legitimate criticism of the President’s policies, however a good portion of it is just far-right craziness and personal attacks. Here’s a couple of links (below) to give you a general idea as to how crazy some of the rhetoric has gotten. I don’t do the whole…”WELL LIBS HATED BUSH FOR 8 YRS!” thing. I’m discussing how there has been a concerted effort by certain media figures to attack this 9 month old administration. Some are even calling for a revolution (peaceful); that’s fine, but the rhetoric being spewed does not match the peaceful part. As an American service-member (USAF) I am very concerned that we are on the verge of either a political war, or a race war. I know we like to think highly of our fellow Americans, but there are some glorified nut-jobs, who were already on the edge, just looking for that extra push; unfortunately they’ve been given just that. For the record, it was wrong when people did it to Bush, and it’s still wrong now. What do you think?
