What are some really scary movies that weren’t made in the 2000′s?

Okay I’m just going to start off by saying I’m not 14 or 15 I’m 22 almost 23. I am having major difficulty finding any movies that will actually scare me. Note I go ghost hunting from time to time and I am very difficult to scare. I have not found one movie that will actually scare me, back in the day when I was younger yeah but now I just can’t seem to get scared and I’m really wanting to be. I’m not talking about movies like the grudge or any “non scary movies” like that, but more cult classics. To be honest I’m really going for scary but I’m also looking for someones advice on good cult classics that actually has taste in movies. Paranormal movies are probably the only ones I could remotely jump from so I would suggest you all recommend movies in that categorie to me. Also I’m afraid of the ocean so any movies that take place in dark water in the ocean might work. I love those scenes when things jump out of nowhere when you least expect it. Okay so no Halloween, Friday the 13th. Grudge, Freddy, Hellraiser, or any movies of the sort like that. I’m not looking for slasher, I’ve seen way to many of them. If you can find me a movie that will actually scare me kudo’s and I’ll give you best answer and 5 stars as well with a great response. It may take a few days for me to choose a best answer since I will be getting all the movies you suggest and watch them before choosing. Also note if I do not get scared I will not choose a best answer and I will delete the question before the times up, but I will be honest if I get scared so no worries on that part unless you don’t make any effort. Can’t wait to get some responses :)
Alright all of the movies you have mentioned I’ve already seen except for the original haunting which I just got done watching and I wasn’t very impressed. Keep trying…

I’m trying to take small portions of movies to use as examples in a class I’m teaching, but I don’t know how to get the clips off of DVDs. I know how to edit them together in movie maker. I just don’t know how to extract the actual movie clips I want to use. Can someone tell me how to do that?

I am looking for other really good movies that would fall in the same category as Good Will Hunting, or just good movies in general that possibly don’t fall in imdb’s top 25.
