Hi. I decided i want to learn hunting and fishing. I know absolutely nothing. What is a good gun to buy for 300 and under?if any? what do i need for a hunting “kit”. what hunting rules do i need to know? what do i need to know that i wont find from books and videos? what do you do after you kill the deer? take it to a butcher?

A good gun to buy is a Ruger 223 but I don’t think there cheap. I assume you’re dear hunting so you’ll need: a gun (with a scope), a grunt call, ammunition, a blind or stand, some type of feed to put out (I prefer corn), a good hunting spot (walk through the area you might be hunting and search for deer trails, oak trees because deer LOVE acorns, and place that supply food. After you kill a deer, you need to skin him then gut him, or you can get him processed by a deer processor. Hope I helped.

Why do rural towns still think Dems will take your guns and hunting rights?
The parents of one of my sons friends came to our house the other day to pick my son up to go somewhere. The first thing out of the guy’s mouth when he came to the door was.. Wow I thought I was in the wrong town when I seen your Obama signs when I was coming up your driveway, whats that about? he asked me. The republicans here in rural Michigan are like a cult or something in my opinion. At the friday night high school football game my 77 year old aunt say’s to me…. “Obama is going to take your hunting rights away from you.. you know that don’t you”? My reply was, you said the same thing when Bill Clinton was running.. it never happened then. I then proceeded to tell her this is republican BS I am a proud avid hunter in Michigan supporting Obama 2008
My dad & his buddies used to take guns to school & everyone was safe. Why are Dems ruining this country?
They used to go hunting right after school, had fun, and even put food on the table.
Does inaccuracy in a science fiction movie or book take away from your enjoyment of it?
“The Day After Tomorrow” was a film that I had wanted to see for quite a while after it was released. Upon viewing it, I was intrigued by some of the science, but put off by what I saw as impossibilities… instantaneous freezing of the atmosphere and physical surfaces, for instance. What were the odds that fella found his son alive anyway? Suffice to say, I enjoyed the film less than I would have otherwise if i thought the science in it was sound.
On the other hand, the possibility that a disease could mutate mankind along the plot lines of the Will Smith movie “I Am Legend ” seemed very plausible to me, and I found the film all the scarier because in my mind, I could imagine it taking place in the not too distant future. Excellent film, by the way.
Maybe you don’t care for science fiction, but prefer historical or period movies or books instead. Do gross inaccuracies in the facts presented put you off to the work as a whole? A good example of a well-done historical piece in my eyes is “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”, a bad one “The Hunt for Red October”. My opinions only!
How does a perceived inaccuracy in a film based on a given premise affect your ability to enjoy it? Can you overlook what faults you find, and take the plot and characters at face value? Or if you find one or two incongruities, do you search for more and enjoy yourself less?

Should Cheney Take Limbaugh Chickenhawk Hunting?
In an AP story just published, Dick Cheney said this, “Rush is a good friend. I love him. I think he does great work and has for years,” Cheney said. “I think Rush is a good man and serves a very important purpose.”
Should Cheney show Rush his man-love for him by taking him to south Texas to hunt the elusive yellow bellied conservative Chickenhawk? Wouldn’t that be the manly thing to do (unlike getting 6 deferments like Cheney did)? That would erase any doubt what Cheney meant when he declared his “love” for Rush, wouldn’t it?
I also have to wonder if maybe Cheney’s daughter picked up her gay gene from papa bear. Ya think?

Ok, I know this is a hot topic. BUT I have something to say. I enjoy my guns. I like to shoot skeet and shoot handguns and I believe in hunting. I have heard over the last couple days because of the VT tragedy that guns kill people and should be banned…. AGAIN….. I think that is a ignorant uneducated statement. A gun is a machine. Just like a car. If misused it can be lethal. JUST LIKE A CAR. I dont see people running around trying to ban cars because some people drink and drive them or drive at excessive speeds which makes them weapons……. Its the same thing. And another thing, if someone thinks that they are going to break into my home and threaten me and my kids, and tell me I dont have the right to defend my family, against a thug with a MISUSED handgun, they are sadly mistaken
While deer hunting, should you make a sound to cause the deer to stop briefly so you can take a better shot?
I’ve been reading tips online for more success while deer hunting (I hunt in Michigan specifically). Some people have talked about “speaking” to the deer (clicking your tongue or literally saying a word to get the deer’s attention) after you’re sighted in, because it will cause the deer to freeze up and look towards you for a couple of seconds, and in that instant when the deer stops, you can take a better shot. I’ve read other people’s advice that says you should never make a sound, even if the deer is moving when you want to take your shot, because you shouldn’t risk the deer just taking off running at the first noise it hears. I haven’t found a LOT of advice on this, and thus I haven’t seen more people in favor of one or the other.
Maybe some of you seasoned deer hunters out there have some thoughts on this?

hey iv been hunting for 3 years i now. since im the age of 15 my dad says i need a (core) licence ,and training at the British-Columbia Wildlife Federation -”completion of a hunter safety training coure,,,,, so im 15 right what and where do i go to do this? and will that allow me to carry a rifle when season opens to hunt deer with my dad???,,, so i need to know this very bad hha my dad isint very much help so im comeing to you guy about this =] PLease Anser all if u can plzzz
