How can I take care of this aggressive dog?
To start off, I’ve trained dogs (basic obedience) for several years. My dad has also trained dogs (obedience and hunting) for 20+ years. We recently moved in with my grandmother to help her around the house. After we moved in she bought a dog off of the internet (she saw the picture and had them send her the dog because it was “cute”… $1500 for a dog who she’d never seen in person). The dog (some new hybrid terrier breed) was well behaved when it first arrived but has been becoming very aggressive. I think it may be getting this way because she treats the dog almost as a stuffed toy. carrying it around, and rarely taking it outside.
At first it would attempt to attack my dad while he was on the couch. Then he started trying to attack me. The other day her ran into the living room and clamped down in my foot drawing blood. The final straw came when he bit my Grandma, which she says, “it isn’t hit fault, I moved too quick”. Unfortunately, my Grandma refuses to have the dog trained in any way and asserts that we must be provoking the dog.
We’ve tried to train the dog but it seems a lost cause because as soon as we make progress it spends the day with my Grandma and it reverts back to being aggressive. I’ve been raised with Dachshunds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Min Pins,etc and I’ve never had this problem before. Anyone have any ideas or tips to help break the dog of this habit?
What are the best kind of deer slugs or buck shot to use on a deer? And you you need slugs to take down a fox?
I am going deer hunting tomorrow, and i know birdshot wont take down a buck so whats the best shotgun shells for deer hunting? And also do i need buck shot or deer slugs for fox”s or coyote”s?
Why does this reindeer take so long to die? Really BIG reindeer, or really bad shot?
They are hunting in Iceland. The guy has a .243 Sako with handloads, and a 6x to 20x Zeiss scope on what appears to be a less than 100 yard shot. He even has a bipod. The reindeer just stands there for a while all alone, then falls down. The reindeer appears to be pretty big.
Would this have been quicker with a .270/,308/,30-06, or does this still happen when the deer is that big?
What are other options if you dont want to take the deer home with you?
I’d like to take up hunting next year. I’ve never been and I don’t have any buddies to ask about it. My concern is this, if I don’t want to take the deer home, what are my options. I know there are guided hunts, and some places have an on site taxedermy shop. So is there anywhere you can take the deer or anything?
I would very much like to try deer meat, but again i dont have any experience with this. So i wouldnt know how to skin, gut, etc.
How long did it take you to conceive?
My husband and I plan to try to conceive this winter, once we overcome some obstacles (ie: we are house hunting right now). We are healthy, non-smokers and very in love
